Alone in the Dark
Alone in the Dark is set in and around New York's sprawling Central Park. Because GameSpy is located in sunny California, far from the Big Apple, we asked developer Eden Studios to fill us in on some of the more prominent places of interest featured in Alone in the Dark's version of Central Park. What follows are painfully detailed descriptions of two of the buildings in Central Park that will appear in Alone in the Dark as well as a bit of exclusive video (embedded below) showing off Eden's skill at architectural re-creation.
Beyond Good and Evil 2?
Though no official announcement was made at Ubisoft's morning press conference, a video was shown designed to show off new advancements in graphics engine technology. It also barely concealed a hint that development has already begun on a sequel to the critically acclaimed Beyond Good and Evil. The subject of years of conjecture and rumors, Beyond Good and Evil 2 seems to be in the works as evidenced by the video below.
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.
Set in 2012, H.A.W.X. is set in a near-future scenario that actually dovetails with Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. In fact, you'll fly at least one mission in tandem with Scott Mitchell's infamous Ghost ground team pulled directly from GRAW 2. As that semi-futuristic setting implies, H.A.W.X. will feature over fifty licensed fightercraft including advanced jets from Boeing, Lockheed and Dassault, among many others. Of course, for the purposes of our demo, we were limited to a couple of Sukhoi aircraft that seemed a bit dated, but also appropriate as starter jets (with the training wheels on, so to speak). After choosing a somewhat janky Su-35, we were off.
Super Games
Army of TwoEA's secret game--referred to as "The Montreal Project" for months--is a third-person shooter built entirely around cooperative play. The game stars Rios and Salem, two men who have matching suits of bulletproof armor that can be joined together (insert Brokeback Mountain joke here).
